Hello, My family and I (five brothers, three
sisters, and Mom and Dad) moved to Central Florida from
Ontario Canada, when I was 15 years old. Since I was about
12 years old, I played the guitar and had the desire to
someday play professionally. I finished high school and
attended college to study music and took a course in
business.
During this time I was working for Senninger Irrigation
Inc in the
factory operating machinery making water sprinklers. I saved
my earnings and established my own business selling musical
instruments. I opened a music outlet store on West Colonial
Drive in Orlando, and named it “Meehan’s Discount Music”. I
catered to amateur and professional musicians throughout
Central Florida. While operating the music store, I myself
became a working professional guitarist and singer, and
began playing the night club circuit.
Playing other styles of music enabled me to also
entertain at most of the larger hotels in Orlando, including
Disney World Contemporary, Polynesian, and Lake Buena Vista
Hotels. I also opened concerts for some world known artists,
and even took the place of the famous “Jerry Lee Lewis” when
he wasn’t able to attend a concert at the Orlando Civic
Center.
It was when I was singing a lot of country music, that I
met my wife Laurie. It wasn’t too long after that, I put the
music to the side and ventured into a new business. I began
pressure washing homes and buildings, which then led into
starting a painting business. My wife and I are now the
proud owners of a successful Business. We are a small
company. For the love
of my country, I later became interested in its direction.
especially after 911. I became interested in news and
wanting answers for a lot that wasn’t being told on the
normal Liberal TV News stations. I started listening to talk
radio stations and started reading a few books about
politics, though I still appreciated the information from
Fox New Network. It didn’t take too long after, I realized
the danger of liberalism, and where it’s taking us today.
I decided to take the guitar out of the closet and began
writing, “The Republican Song,” “Please Don’t Vote for a
Democrat.” Realizing the big election was coming up, I found
it important to get the message out. There for, I sat down
and recorded the song. All instrumental parts, rhythm
guitar, lead and base guitar, drums, and all vocals I
played recorded in my home on a 12 channel recording board. I have
also written 14 Christian songs since, and plan on recording
them as well.
I hope you enjoy listening to “The Republican Song” and
hope to help people make the decision to vote “Republican”
for the Presidential election and all elections in the
future. God Bless you and God Bless America,
Mike Meehan
